"There's no such thing as breakfast lasagne. It's just plain wrong."

Kinda reminds me of something my friend E.G. once told me:

E.G.: "Stew isn't a breakfast food."
E.G's Mom: "And goulash is?"
E.G.: "Yes."
E.G's Brother: "And leftover pizza is?"
Mom: Leftover pizza is, but beef stew isn't."
E.G's Dad: "After all, we got standards here."

Any lasagne is good for breakfast. Being in college, you eat whatever's in the fridge, even if it doesn't belong to you. It's in the fridge, it's fair game. Lasagne is one of the most satisfying breakfasts I enjoy!

there is a breakfast casserole where you put bread in the bottom of the dish and pour a mixture of eggs, cooked sausage, green chilies, sauted onions, and shredded cheese on top...cover with more cheese and stick in the fridge overnight baking the following morning....you could follow the same basic principle but if you layered like traditional lasagne, i think all the eggs would end up on the bottom...sooooo...either the noodles would have to be like a crust, or...
layer of noodles
layer of sausage (or ham)
layer of cheese
layer of noodles
layer of eggs and goodies (onions etc)
layer of cheese
and YES it would be wonderful topped with a white-sauce of somesort...kinda like alfredo with maybe a little less garlic...

(yes, i love my kitchen!!!!)

Hmm... perhaps a very cheesy sauce, a ricotta/mozzarella blend perhaps, instead of tomato sauce. Yes, ham would be nice mixed in with that. Perhaps a layer of sausage. Top it with cheddar cheese. Anyone know how eggs would stand up to being baked in a lasagne?

Anyway, I don't think it's "wrong" because I think most of the ingredients would be usual breakfast stuff. Just toss it between a few layers of pasta.

I could go for some breakfast lasagne myself.

I'm agreeing with Phil here. When I read the comment, I was thinking along the lines of a breakfast burrito. I agree that leftover lasagne for breakfast sounds just fine, but the idea of "breakfast lasagne" sounds really gross to me. Of course, I'm a really picky eater, so ... ;-) What would be in a breakfast lasagne anyway?

I think there is a distinction between "lasagne for breakfast", which is good; and "breakfast lasagne", which sound like something Kelloggs might be test marketing.

"Lasagne" always looks like it is spelled wrong, by the way.

Breakfast lasagna sounds good...But my personal favorite breakfast is leftover pineapple pizza (cold). Another thing that's really good is cake. In high school, my friends and I would go down to our dorm's common room at 3 in the morning (we didn't sleep much) the day after a birthday party. Without fail, there was always half of a vanilla/chocolate sheet cake on the table. It's best when it's been sitting around for a few hours. It's not stale yet, but the icing is hardening slightly, and the cake itself is still moist...but not too moist. And, of course, you have to eat it with your fingers. Mmmmmm...

No, actually, I can't help but hear them, it's an odd trick of acoustics, I think. Often I'll be trying to sleep, and the most random quote will come drifting up to my window.

Lasagne is actually delicious at breakfast time. Especially if its last nights; the reheating blends the flavors.

And breakfast customs vary so much around the world anyhow; I think I read that the Vietnamese have hot sour soup for breakfast.
