Seen at my office's cafeteria:

Today's special:
Ham and Bacon Quiche with pasta salad or fires

I wonder what kind of container would hold the fires?

  • <cheesy italian accent> That's a spicy meat-a-ball! &lt/cheesy italian accent&gt
  • "Ham and Bacon Quiche with pasta salad..." ...Do they hate their employees that much?
  • "fires"... hmm... Freudian slip, maybe?

Regarding #2 and 3:

* The cafeteria is run by a separate company, so it's not the same set of employees. Also, that was a relatively tame item... when it gets to Atkins week, it seems that anything can be wrapped in bacon and/or cheese. Anything.
* Typos are endemic to the cafeteria menus. Also, the workers have English as a far second language - I believe they speak Portuguese, but i'm not sure. So, in a word: no.

5/18 update: Found today's soup description "Three Bean and Bacon" apropos to the discussion
