"That's not a sexist remark because I know men paint their toenails too, they just don't tell us about it."
--A very small, elderly woman, lecturing her younger walking companion
You know, if I were a guy, and working in some grand, important, suity and serious job, I'd probably paint my toenails sparkly purple and no one would know.

Hrm, I wonder if this is why they don't make open-toed shoes for men-- to conceal the pedicures?

Mens Toes

Not much talk on toenail painting for men. Well men are still doing it and showing them off in public. What do you think about that? Anyone??

Posted by copperhead on Fri, 08/12/2005 - 10:14am.
nobody. freaking. cares.

for the love of mercy, stop dredging up this old topic. fish for fetishists somewhere else. you do realize nobody sees the recent topics but the registered users, mostly the same people who have been on here all the time and have never cared about your damn toenails and are unlikely to develop any sudden interest. you do know that, right?

besides, all that editing to bring this repeatedly back up to the front, you think you would've figured out it's "men's" not "mens". sheesh.

i went to war for my country and all i got was this lousy stump.

I was under the impression that this thread auto-loads every time it hits a date with a 12 in it. I don't think that Painted toes guy is even here any more.

I dunno, maybe I'm just overly amused by the idea that the site itself has some sort of foot fetish.

I dunno

I've noticed this thread gets brought back up more often than any other. And, what, two days after copperhead posts this (and thus ends Painted Toe's ability to edit), the other toenail painting thread reappears. Quite a coincidence. Now that copperhead has responded to all of Painted Toe's posts, we'll have to see how often these threads come up again.

[edit] Okay, the site has a painted toenail fetish. *shrug*

Mens' Painted Toes

I'm still here. Nobody ever uses this thread. It's not a fetish I just like good looking feet. Guys should not be so afraid to paint their toes clear or use a color. They paint their nails black so why not toes? I recently painted my toes blue. All I got was compliments. Respond if you want to talk about how it feels to be free!!

Ah. Nothing wrong with talking, I guess.

So... how's your wife? Feeling any better?

Thanks for asking about my wife. She is doing great. All the treatments are done and she looks really good. It will take some time for her hair to grow back the way it was but we are so blessed that she is alive. She now is helping other ladies that find out they have breast cancer. She is a success story and can give hope to those that get that terrible news.
I really don't have a toe fixation. I just think it's funny!! I'll paint them again some time but it's just to remind me how much my wife went through this last summer.I'll tell you this though. I have learned a lot about foot care and that has really helped me to be more aware. If your feet feel good that is a big plus. Thanks for reading.

Sorry, I'm still saying "fetish". Your relentless drive to talk about something no one else has any interest in says "fetish". I'm not talking a sexual fetish here; I'm talking fixation, or, as the dictionary says, "obsessive attachment."

I've never seen you post a comment anywhere but this thread and the other toenail thread, and the content is always following the same form, never anything new. That's fixation. That's fetish. And that's fine. I have nothing against fetishes. Everybody's probably got at least one (be it painted toenails or Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and anyway, different is good.

But seriously, you'd probably have more success getting a dialogue going with a Yahoo group or something. Because, like copperhead pointed out, only registered IP users even see the backpages--if you aren't signed in, there's no option for looking at the recent posts, and the archive is terribly unfriendly. And if any of the IP regulars wanted to respond, chances are, they already would have.

Paint my Toes

I love to paint my toenails. I'm straight and I like the looks of my toes painted. I go barefoot a lot in the summer and also wear sandles. I like the looks I get from people looking at my toes. It's ok, I'm secure in it. Who makes up the stereotype that only girls can paint their toenails??

Hey, good for you. Paint on.... since it looks good. I know there are those that don't like to talk about it but, it is becoming more acceptable that guys do take care of their feet. Good feet reflect a healthy person!!

Upcoming Pedicure
Posted by bigtoe on Thu, 01/06/2005 - 2:23pm.
I also like to have my toenails painted. I've done it myself, but like to have it done in a salon. Previous colors have included blue, gold and a dark red. It's interesting to see the look of the girl doing my toes when I ask for polish. They always seem so surprised and I must admit that I am a little embarrassed, but have it done anyway. Next appointment, I think I'm going to ask for a French pedicure. Anyone have this done in the past? What colors look good?

Toenail Colors
Posted by Painted toes on Fri, 01/07/2005 - 4:17pm.
Bigtoe, I have a pinkish red color that I use. It sometime turns a purple in the light. I do use a clear coat over it and it lasts longer. I don't know if I would ever get a French tip though. I do my nails myself every two to three weeks. I have had various pink colors especially for summer. Red doesn't do much for me. I may try blue or green! Hey, nothing wrong with a guy looking good on his feet. The girls think it's a turn-on. What do you think about that?

Painted for a Reason
Posted by Painted toes on Mon, 01/10/2005 - 6:00pm.
Sorry if I offended anyone. I first painted my toenails for my wife. She developed breast cancer and it was devistating to her and me. I knew she would lose her hair and that was her prize. I thought of a way to make her laugh again. I painted my nails pink, for breast cancer, and put a picture of them on her computer screen. When she saw that she laughed out loud. I told her I would paint my nails until she was done with all the treatments and her hair grew back. If anyone sees them I tell them why I do it. She is still in treatment. It was weird at first but now I do think it looks good. We have a lot of fun making fun. It has been a good remedy for the depression that this cancer can cause on someone. Please don't be offended. Maybe it will catch on!!

Who says a comment can come too late?

Anyway, reminds me of a story my grandmother tells. When she was a Navy wife, she once painted my grandfather's toenails with fuschia doggie nail polish while he was asleep (read: passed out in a stupor). When he awoke, she told him that because it was dog polish, normal nail polish remover wouldn't work and he'd just have to wait and let it grow out. };c)

When I was married, our daughter painted her fathers toenails with sparkly purple nail polish. The next day, I phoned his secretary who arranged with the boss that everyone at the staff meeting had to take thier shoes and socks off. He saw the joke.....eventually.

Maybe that is why he is my EX-husband?

My singing group at college did a "Cross-dressing" concert as a gag. Afterwards, I kept the nail polish on for a while... figured I would never have the chance to try it again in the "real world".
Maybe if 5 women paint my toenails...

While sitting around one Friday evening drinking wine, some girlfriends and I decided to do our toenails with some sparkly purple polish supplied by the 5-year-old daughter of one of us. After doing all of our toes, we latched on to the husband of the hostess (who had consumed more than a sufficiency of wine himself) and painted his toenails. He was bemused by the event and didn't object much. How could he? He was being held down by five women -- probably one of his dreams. Anyway, the next day, his wife received a piteous phone call from the poor fellow. He had a tee-time at the club (where he had to shower) and couldn't figure out how to get the stuff off. I wonder how many guys at golfing clubs are walking around with sparkly purple toenails. I bet a lot.
