i'm just a sporadic lurker who doesn't know who arlene was in the first place so i'll go back to the original topic...

he was either
a.) being flirted with by a not-so-straight guy
b.) (using the 60s definetion of straight that means no drugs and no sex) responding to someone using any of the 0912380129381298 terms for various types of drugs
c.) he couldn't think of anything else to say...as with me not being able to think of an interesting third option
