"Good call on the reservations. Makes it look like there was advance planning."
"There was. We made reservations."
"You know..."

I'd like to try and clear something up...the addition of urinals in mens restrooms does not mean that we have twice the options. Both a toilet and a urinal are considered a "fixture". The rule of thumb I was taught in architecture school is that womens restrooms should generally have 1.5 times the number of TOTAL fixtures of mens restrooms. This varies by building code, but most do not allow for the mens room to have more than the women. For example, BOCA (a common building code) requires that places of assembly have a fixture count ratio for women to men of 2 to 1. I have actually seen this ratio at 3 to 1 in building plans.

Secondly, P.F. Chang's has pretty good food, but don't go if you want authentic Chinese food. It is always crowded because it is unbearably trendy. I overheard a girl tell her friend, "I can't believe you haven't gone yet. You can totally just pick anything on the menu and if you don't think it's the greatest ever...I just can't be your friend anymore."
Or something

or just think about it in terms of what my sisters tell me-- the ladies have to half-undress, whereas the rest of us just uh do our thing. Um, ok.

PF Changs is Chinese, I think, and always always packed...but it's worth it.

Plus of course...

Ladies rooms have couches, wall to wall make-up mirrors and probably a coffee bar in there too!
Could you imagine a guy saying to another guy at a table where some couples are eating together: "I'm going to the men's room, anyone want to come with me?" - Never happen, yet I've seen women do that constantly.

Is PF Changs good?

I was just wondering. Its rare for most Chinese restaurants to need reservations. Unless they are extraordinarily good or cater to a different taste. Which may be what PFC does. But I don't know and I wanted confirmation.

Never been to PF Chang's. Don't even know if it's Chinese. But when I went to Le Cheval in Oakland, we totally needed reservations. Then again, it was the best East Asian food I've had, ever. Ever.

Is that vietnamese? In downtown Oakland? If I ever get across the bay and miss Kirala's I'll give it a whirl.

Here's a well-planned adventure, for your enjoyment. The story is wonderful, even better than the video.
Reservations for the bathroom?

Damn, those lines for the toilet are getting ridiculous!

Well, look at it this way...g

Well, look at it this way...guys have urinals AND stalls, so they already have twice as many toilets. So they're just evening things out.

Though I can't imagine someone caring enough to make it a LAW...

A few weeks back we took our Scout Troop to Winterhaven in WV for a little snow tubing. Stick with me, I have a point.

As winter activities, skiing, snowtubing and snowboarding tend to lead to an overabundance of fluffy layers. After about 2 hours of standing in the snow, we 4 dads decided we were coffee deprived and headed for warmer climes. Inside the club house or what have you, the line at the women's restroom was about 15 ladies and 30 piles of clothing past the outer door, the men's room line...well, there wasn't one. West Virginians being simple folk opted for the simple solution. They posted someone at the men's room door and moved the other 15 ladies to the mens's room. In the matter of 15-20 minutes there was no line on either side.
