There was the Animaniacs episode with the pirates, in which the captain promised not to throw his crew overboard,
"What, never?"
"No, never."
"What, never?"
(kicks a couple of the crewmen off) "Well hardly ever!"

But Animaniacs being what it was, that could have been jacked from another, earlier, source, I suppose.
